ELECTIONS TRANSFORMED BY A WNY INNOVATION

The height of the mid-term political season seems like a good time to revisit the story of a key piece of technology that revolutionized balloting. Voters of a certain age around the country have used this technology at one time or another and for decades it was the gold standard for elections nationwide.  It is the story of how the lever-action voting machine came to be developed and manufactured in Jamestown, NY. The attached “Made in WNY” item was originally posted in December 2012.
