43 NORTH: A WORLD-CLASS CONTEST

Phase one of 43North, part of Governor Cuomo’s Buffalo Billion initiative, came to a climax last night at Shea’s Theatre with an impressive, world-class production worthy of the richest business plan competition in the world. Towering backdrops, a giant movie screen, pounding music and dramatic lighting literally set the stage for the awarding of over $5 million in cash and services for 11 finalists/winners from as far as Taiwan and Scotland. Andrew Pulkrabek, 43North, LaunchNY, Jordan Levy and the rest of the team that organized this contest did WNY proud with this high quality effort.

Now Phase Two can begin. As all successful entrepreneurs know, securing funding isn’t the end of the work, it’s actually just the beginning. Deciding when and how to deploy your resources can often make the difference between success and failure, no matter how powerful your idea or product. These finalists/winners still have a long way to go before they have created profitable, successful businesses. For our part, Insyte looks forward to helping these entrepreneurs in every way that we can as part of a larger support network that will include many other individuals, companies, non-profits, economic development organizations and government entities. So, congratulations to all, now let’s get to work!
