Buffalo, NY – Insyte Consulting, a non-profit management consulting organization, is proud to announce that its client, Frederick Machine & Manufacturing, is one of the first manufacturers in our region, and in New York State, to be certified to the new ISO 9001: 2015 standard which was just published on September 23, 2015. An ISO certification is an international standard that adds credibility to a manufacturer by demonstrating that it is following a documented process. The ISO Quality Management System Certification was last updated in 2008.
Frederick Machine & Manufacturing is a third generation family-owned and woman-owned WNY business that delivers technology-driven machine solutions and comprehensive repair services to provide its clients with a one-stop destination for all machine and manufacturing needs. Frederick Machine’s leadership saw an opportunity with new ISO standards coming out to improve its shop’s approach to producing quality products to meet its customers’ needs.
“We decided to move quickly as a company to adopt these new standards and turned to Insyte Consulting and its team of experts to help us prepare for, and earn, the new 2015 ISO certification,” said Jim Kelly, Co-owner of Frederick Machine. “We’re excited to see how this new disciplined approach will positively impact our production and help us meet our customers’ requirements.

A few of the notable changes in the ISO Quality Management System (QMS) certification from 2008 to 2015 include: An explicit requirement for the organization to identify risks and opportunities that affect the QMS and incorporate action plans to address these issues; a requirement for organizations to identify issues, interested parties and requirements that affect the QMS and implement monitoring of these to determine if changes are necessary; and more emphasis on leadership to increase the significance of communication and awareness of the QMS throughout the organization.
Frederick Machine received its ISO 2015 Certification on February 8, 2016.
