WNY MOURNS INTERNATIONAL TRADE EXPERT

Lauren Rachlin, a champion of international business and trade, passed away last week at the age of 87. A Harvard-trained lawyer, Mr. Rachlin was a Buffalo native and practiced in WNY and southern Ontario for 64 years helping companies large and small to do business across borders. Beginning in 1970 with the United Nations, Mr. Rachlin served in many capacities from the Industry Trade Advisory Committee of United States Department of Commerce to the International Law and Practice section of the NYS Bar Association, which he founded.  “He believed international business as a driver of economic development, whether it was WNY manufacturers exporting their products or Canadian companies setting up shop here in WNY,” said Benjamin Rand, President of Insyte Consulting, who served with Mr. Rachlin on the Board of the World Trade Center Buffalo Niagara. “We’ll miss his expertise and enthusiasm for international business.” Learn more here.
