American manufacturing expanded again in March according to the Institute for Supply Management whose PMI Index registered 59.3 for the month. That reading was down 1.5 points from February, but still indicated growth (a reading above 50 indicates expansion), as did many of the constituent indices for New Orders, Production, Employment, Supplier Deliveries, Inventories, New Export Orders and Imports. ISM reported that 17 of 18 manufacturing sectors reported growth, although several expressed concerns related to tariffs and/or difficulty finding carriers and drivers. See the full report here.
