A recent workshop brought in seasoned business experts to assist inventors in formulating plans for launching a new business with their innovative technology. Bob Kosobucki and Jack McGowan of Insyte Consulting facilitated two of the fifteen teams in the development of their startup plan.
Organized by the NYS Centers of Excellence for Materials Informatics and for Bioinformatics & Life Sciences, and following the intense two day Pre-Seed Workshop* methodology, the teams were guided through identification of markets for their new products, articulation of their selling proposition, building of a financial budget, and listing of next steps to produce and take their product to market. The culmination of the workshop was a 20 minute presentation by each team’s product champion to a panel of startup experienced judges who asked tough questions, and offered suggestions to improve their business plan.
