The New York Federal Reserve’s Empire State Manufacturing Survey for July showed increasing activity across NYS. The general conditions index was up +17.2 points to 17.4, its first trip above zero since February (a reading above 0.0 indicates expansion), led by increases in Shipments and New Orders. However the six-month outlook softened in July as the future conditions index fell -18.1 points from a multi-year high to 38.4, still well into positive territory. See the full report here.
