The Empire State Manufacturing Survey’s general business conditions index registered 24.4 in September, down 0.8 from a three-year high in August, but still indicating strong growth. The index has been trending upward since the beginning of 2016. New Orders, Shipments, Unfilled Orders and Delivery Time were among the seven constituent indicators that improved in September. Only the Average Employee Workweek decreased.
