The NY Federal Reserve’s November Empire State Manufacturing Survey indicated NYS manufacturing activity was little changed from the previous month. The general business conditions index was 6.3, down -4.2 points (a reading above 0.0 indicates expansion). But manufacturers in NY remained optimistic about the near-term future, pushing the six-month future business conditions index to 33.9, up 1.1 points from last month. This may be note-worthy since the survey, conducted from November 2-9, spanned the national election and the ensuing uncertainty. See the full report here.
