The Empire State Manufacturing Survey showed another strong month of growth for NYS manufacturers in September. The index climbed 13 points to 27.5, its highest level in five years, paced by growth in new orders and shipments. Manufacturing has now expanded every month this year in New York according to the survey. The last time that happened for a full year was 2007. NYS manufacturers expect the trend to continue as the forward-looking indicators for Future Business Conditions, New Orders and Shipments all remained above 45. See the full report here.
