After two months of expansion, manufacturing activity across the State decreased, but manufacturers’ outlook improved according to this month’s Empire State Manufacturing Survey from the Federal Reserve Bank of NY. The General Business Conditions Index fell 22.6 points to -3.9 (a reading above 0.0 is consistent with expansion), while the index for Future Business Conditions climbed 16.6 points to 35.7, its highest level since January.
