For the fourth time in the last five months, manufacturing activity across NYS grew modestly according to the latest Empire State Manufacturing Survey from the Federal Reserve Bank of NY. The General Business Conditions Index for February was 7.1 (a reading above 0.0 is consistent with expansion), although a slight decrease from January’s reading of 7.7. Manufacturers optimism continued to improve as the index for Future Business Conditions increased 4.4 points to 34.7, its highest reading in a year. See the full report here.
