For the third time in the last four months, the Empire State Manufacturing Survey indicates modest expansion in June rising 15.0 points to a reading of 6.0. Prior to March 2016, the survey spent seven consecutive months in negative territory, falling to a six year low of -19.4 this past January. June’s improvement was led by increases in New Orders and Shipments. The six month outlook was also up, hitting a 2016 high of 34.8. See the full report here.
