NY Manufacturers’ Optimism Grows

Manufacturers’ confidence in the future grew across the state last month with the future conditions index reaching its highest level in a year, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Empire State Manufacturing Survey for September.   Actual manufacturing activity was largely unchanged after falling sharply last month, with the current conditions index registering 1.9 (a reading above 0.0 is indicative of expansion).  See the full report here.
