The U.S. Department of Commerce Manufacturing Extension Partnership’s (MEP) Supplier Scouting service posts requests from companies and government agencies seeking U.S. manufacturers for a wide variety of products or contract manufacturing services. Many of the requests require that the products comply with Build America, Buy America Act (“BABAA”) requirements https://www.commerce.gov/oam/build-america-buy-america. Recent requests include:
- Fire sprinkler heads
- Low voltage control systems
- Titanium dioxide electroplating onto 18” X 18” stainless steel mesh
- Ingredient sourcing and blending of organic pre-workout powder
- White corrugated box printed on all sides
- Rotomolded PETE water jug with multiple built-in handles and threaded cap
- Heavy duty metal frame fabrication including laser cutting, welding and CNC machining. Supplier must own Bystronic equipment.
- Epoxy bottle cap adaptor
- Blow molded 16 oz. glass water/juice bottles with caps
- Fabrication of curved/semi-circular, phosphate-free silicate glass
- Soda lime float glass used in windows
- Water to air heat exchangers made of copper tubes and aluminum fins to be used in fan coils for residential and commercial appliances.
- Fan motor, fan rotor and casing for residential and commercial appliances.
For each request, the MEP website posts a Supplier Scouting Opportunity Synopsis that details technical specifications and performance requirements, delivery requirements and cost and volume estimates.
New requests are received on a regular basis and generally have a required response date of 1-3 weeks.
