LOCAL MANUFACTURING EXPANSION CONTINUES

The July Buffalo Purchasing Managers Index was at 57.0 indicating the fourth month in a row of increased manufacturing activity. Although the Index fell 7 points from its lofty June level, a reading above 50.0 indicates expansion. Most components of the index—New Orders, Production, Prices, Employment and Deliveries—also showed expansion while only Inventories contracted. Buffalo’s trend has been consistent with NYS-wide and national measures. Read the full report here.
