Buffalo, NY – Insyte Consulting, a non-profit management consulting organization, has been selected as the Western New York Regional Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Center by Empire State Development Corporation (ESD) as part of their New York Manufacturing Extension Partnership Program competition. This selection comes with funding of $4.25 million through 2020. Insyte Consulting has been the designated Western New York center since the inception of the program in 1988. The MEP Program’s objective is to help small and mid-sized manufacturers succeed by making them more competitive and more profitable.
Insyte Consulting has been the top performing MEP center in New York and the nation since 2013, based on the results of independent, third party, quarterly client surveys. Survey data shows that Insyte Consulting has generating $1 billion in economic impact since 2011 representing 30% of New York’s total during that time while receiving 12% of New York’s MEP funds. Insyte Consulting also leads the state with 3,538 jobs created or saved over that same period with an average cost per job created or saved of under $1,200. According to the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) MEP’s Quantitative sCORE metrics, Insyte leads the nation in economic impact delivered per Federal MEP dollar invested.
“We’re pleased to have been re-designated as the MEP Center for our area so that we can continue to help Western New York manufacturers innovate, grow and profit,” said Benjamin Rand, President of Insyte Consulting. “We’re excited to be part of the resurgence in Buffalo with Buffalo Manufacturing Works, 43North and the other Buffalo Billion initiatives that will create long-term economic development in our region.”
Since 2011, New York MEP has delivered over $3.3 billion in economic impact including 15,409 jobs created or saved. New York MEP is part of the Federal Government’s Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (www.nist.gov/mep/about/index.cfm), a nationwide program, which is administered by NIST. Since 1988, the MEP Program has worked with nearly 80,000 manufacturers, leading to $88 billion in sales and $14 billion in cost savings, and it has helped create more than 729,000 jobs.
