Happy National Manufacturing Day!

On Friday, October 4^th we celebrate National Manufacturing Day.  Why celebrate manufacturing?  Let us count the reasons why:

• $2.9 Trillion¹ – U.S. manufacturing’s annualized value-added output (10.1% of U.S. total);
  • $80.7 Billion¹ – NYS manufacturers value added comprising 3.9% of NYS GDP;
• 12.9 million¹ – the number of manufacturing employees in the U.S. as of August 2024;
  • 422,700² – the number of people employed by NYS manufacturers, August 2024;
  • 67,000²– the number of people employed by WNY manufacturers, August 2024;
• $98,846¹ – the average compensation for U.S. manufacturing employees as of 2022;
• 53.0%¹ – the portion of private-sector R&D done by U.S. manufacturers; and
• $5.1Billion³ – Cumulative impact of WNY manufacturers’ projects with Insyte Consulting.

Perhaps we should celebrate manufacturing in New York State and nationwide EVERY day!
