“Manufacturing activity grew at a solid pace in New York State, with the survey’s headline index reaching its highest level since last November,” according to this month’s Empire State Manufacturing Survey from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The General Business Conditions Index rose 8.0 points to 18.7, it’s highest level in a year (a reading above 0.0 is consistent with expansion).
