Find new customers and suppliers through the MEP Supplier Scouting Service

The U.S. Department of Commerce Manufacturing Extension Partnership’s (MEP) Supplier Scouting service posts requests from companies and government agencies seeking U.S. manufacturers for a wide variety of products or contract manufacturing services.  Many of the requests require that the product complies with Build America, Buy America Act (“BABA”) requirements  https://www.commerce.gov/oam/build-america-buy-america . Recent requests include:

  • Robotic tape-laying machine
  • BABA-compliant glass beads for roadway marking
  • ¼” thick mirrors of varying sizes
  • Processed or unprocessed horsehair
  • Extruded aluminum trim for porcelain tile
  • Wood felt acoustic wall panel
  • Fabrication of aluminum and polycarbonate plates
  • Plate and frame gasketed type heat exchanger – BABA compliant
  • Unit heaters and cabinet unit heaters – BABA compliant
  • Hi-impact plastic 5” casters for walker
  • Stainless steel eyebrow grooming tool new product startup
  • Ceramic monolithic honeycomb
  • Biodegradable plastic cups for bakery purposes
  • 69kV and 115kV wave traps
  • Finished rolls of ripstop fabric
  • Electroplating of nickel and tin
  • Stainless steel and Inconel alloy sheets and coils from ISO/AS9100 and DFAR-certified supplier
  • 6oz. to 8 oz. jars of creamy peanut butter to be used as a standard reference material
  • Outdoor drinking fountain with ADA accessibility
  • Co-packer/contract manufacturer of baked pita chips containing sesame seeds
  • Low-voltage DC gearmotor
  • Stretch wrap in 20” X 5000” rolls o f80 gauge material
  • Contract manufacturer of novel “cure-on-demand” polymer products
  • Wearable camera prototype that uses 2-way communication and AI technology

For each request, the MEP website posts a Supplier Scouting Opportunity Synopsis that details technical specifications and performance requirements, delivery requirements and cost and volume estimates.

New requests are received on a regular basis and generally have a required response date of 1-3 weeks.
