Built to Lead, Built to Last: Celebrating Ben Rand’s Retirement

Some leaders are remembered for what they accomplish. Others are remembered for how they lead. Benjamin L. Rand leaves behind a legacy defined by both.

After 20 years of serving as President of Insyte Consulting, Ben is retiring from the organization he has helped shape and from a manufacturing community he has tirelessly championed.

Before leading Insyte, Ben experienced our work firsthand as a client. After seeing the impact of our Lean Manufacturing expertise, he recognized the value of an organization dedicated to helping Western New York manufacturers succeed. When the opportunity arose to succeed Bob Martin and lead Insyte, he jumped at the chance, bringing with him a deep belief in our mission and the people behind it.

Over the past two decades, Ben has become a trusted leader throughout Western New York. As Insyte Consulting’s Board Chair, Dale Gier, describes him, “Ben is a ‘go-to’ leader, he is a moderator, problem solver, facilitator and the gold standard for bringing people together. Measured, level-headed and remarkably consistent, he has earned the trust and respect of our clients, partners and colleagues.”

Ben’s leadership has always been rooted in humility. He has generously given his time, shared his expertise and has been a constant presence in the manufacturing community. Many of us – and many throughout Western New York – are proud to call him a friend.

Under Ben’s leadership, our mission never wavered: helping manufacturing and technology companies grow, innovate and profit. Since 2000, manufacturers working with Insyte have reported more than $5.8 billion in economic impact and over 24,000 jobs created or retained. Ben also helped bring the vision of Northland Workforce Training Center to life, creating a collaborative ecosystem where manufacturers can access world-class expertise, advanced technology and workforce development resources in one place.

One of the things Ben has always said makes Insyte special is our people. His unwavering belief in our team and our mission has shaped the culture of our organization and positioned us for continued success. As Ben passes the torch to Gregg Eagan, he leaves behind far more than an impressive list of accomplishments. He leaves a legacy of integrity, collaboration, service and an enduring commitment to the success of Western New York manufacturing.

On behalf of all of us at Insyte Consulting, thank you, Ben. Thank you for your leadership, your generosity, your friendship and for believing so deeply in our mission. Your impact can be measured in stronger companies and meaningful partnerships but it will be remembered most in the trust, respect and admiration you’ve earned along the way. We wish you all the very best in your next chapter.
