With the highly anticipated return of NYSEG’s MAP grants alongside powerful programs like National Grid’s MPP, the NYS SMART I-Corridor, and ARC EMA, local businesses have access to tens of thousands of dollars in matching funds. NYSEG Manufacturing Accelerator Program (MAP):
Insyte Consulting is excited to announce the return of NYSEG’s MAP grants! These grants support a diverse range of operational improvement and growth projects that improve productivity and increase revenue for NYSEG’s WNY manufacturing customers:
- Matching reimbursement grants up to the lesser of $15,000, or 40%, of the costs incurred by eligible manufacturers whose top management commits the time and resources to productivity improvement projects such as Lean manufacturing, Lean office, waste reduction, ISO quality programs and other projects that lower costs, improve quality and reduce lead times.
- Matching reimbursement grants up to the lesser of $15,000, or 50%, to fund growth-targeted activities such as new product development, export initiatives, sales and marketing efforts, and other projects designed to increase revenue.
- Applicants who choose to commit time and resources to both productivity and growth initiatives will be eligible for a reimbursement grant of up to $40,000, or 60% (whichever is less), of the costs incurred to implement such transformative projects.
National Grid Manufacturing Productivity Program (MPP):
National Grid was the originator of utility grants program in 2009, and their MPP grants have the same structure, percentage and dollar limits that NYSEG MAP grants mirror. Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Energy Manufacturing in Appalachia (EMA):
Previously known as ARISE (Appalachian Regional Initiative for Stronger Economies), the EMA program is a multi-state program that helps small- and mid-sized manufacturers (under 500 employees) located in Appalachia to improve energy efficiency, expand into new energy markets, access technical assistance and grants of up to $10,000. In WNY, ARC/ EMA applies to projects with manufacturer in Chautauqua, Cattaraugus or Allegany Counties.
NYS SMART I-Corridor:
New York State’s SMART I-Corridor (Semiconductor Manufacturing and Research Technology Innovation Corridor) program provides an array of funding and support for manufacturers entering into, or already part of the semiconductor supply chain. The SMART I-Corridor initiative is designed to support the sub-tier supply chain to New York State’s investments in domestic semiconductor manufacturing, such as Micron’s new chip fab under construction in the Syracuse area. Grant assistance can be directed towards subsidized technical assistance projects with Insyte, using SCAN grants of up to $25,000, investments in R&D for semiconductors through the Commercialization and Collaboration Center (C3), and with the STEP UP workforce talent training and acquisition initiative.
