A KEY PIECE OF THE BUFFALO BILLION IS RENEWED

43North, the world’s largest business plan competition by prize money, has secured the lion’s share of its 2016 funding needs with a $6 million grant from NYPA (read more here).  43North was designed to be the lynchpin in the Buffalo Billion’s effort to make entrepreneurship a key element of WNY’s new economy.  It has certainly succeeded in dramatically increasing the interest and visibility of entrepreneurial activity here, starting with the initial competition in 2014 which generated nationwide social media buzz.   43North is now in the midst of its second edition and will announce its winners in October.  Kudos to John Gavigan, Jordy Levy, Bill Maggio and many others whose efforts have gotten 43North this far!
