The WNY Venture Association (WNYVA)
- Held 5 forums featuring 10 local startups presenting to potential investors, collaborators and business professionals. Attendance at WNYVA Forums is open to the general business community. *The next forum is scheduled for May 13th.
- Hosted a series of Angel Investor Education workshops using curriculum provided by the industry-expert Angel Capital Association.
- Held monthly meetings at which individuals who meet the SEC’s “Accredited Investor” income or net worth criteria heard funding presentations by local startups and collaborated in due diligence activities.
- Began developing a joint plan with the Rochester Angel Network for a potential Buffalo-Rochester Angel Investment Fund.
- Members have invested more than $9 million in 54 local startups since 2008, with successful exits that include ACV Auctions, ClearView Social, Patient Pattern and Green Project Technologies.
