REGIONAL MANUFACTURING FIGURES FOR BUFFALO-NIAGARA ARE SOLID

The Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) from the National Association of Purchasing Management – Buffalo indicates that our regional manufacturing conditions improved in September with the index increasing 5.4 points to 62.4 (readings above 50 indicate expansion).  This is the PMI’s highest reading in over a year and the seventh month in a row above 50.  Seasonally adjusted Production jumped over 17 points to 74.4.  The reading for New Orders was 60.9, still growing, but at a lower rate based on last month’s reading of 64.3.  Every other constituent of the index, including Prices, Inventories, Employment, Deliveries and Manufacturing showed expansion in September.  See the full report here: BuffaloNAPM_September2013
