NYS MANUFACTURING STRONG FOR SECOND MONTH

NY Fed’s Empire State Manufacturing Survey for June indicates continued expansion with the index edging up to 19.3 from 19.0 in May. These are the highest levels reported since mid-2010 and are consistent with the recent national ISM and local PMI indexes showing manufacturing expanding. New Orders led the way climbing to 18.4 from 10.4 last month. The forward looking index also remained high at 39.8 indicating optimism about conditions six months from now. See the full survey results here.
