WNY MANUFACTURER ON FRONTLINES OF EBOLA OUTBREAK

Safetec of America Inc., a Buffalo manufacturer of safety products including medical disinfection and spill kits, has seen a spike in orders as the U.S. healthcare sector responds to Ebola in this country.  The previous SARS and H1N1 “Bird Flu” epidemics produced similar results.  Safetec is responding by increasing its workforce by over 10% to cover the demand.  “This is one more example of a WNY manufacturer that may be little-known locally, but plays a key role in its chosen markets” said Ben Rand, President of Insyte Consulting.  “Other examples are Whiting Door in Akron, which manufacturers are large portion of the roll-up doors on the back of every eighteen wheeler on the road and Ashton Potter, a high-security printer that is one of only three stamp suppliers to the U.S. Postal Service.”  Read the full story here.
