The Long Island Railroad (LIRR) is the busiest commuter railroad in North America carrying about 265,000 travelers each weekday and stretching 120 miles from the heart of New York City to the privileged beaches of the Hamptons and Montauk. Now a 100-year-old WNY manufacturer will help make that possible. Composite Panel Solutions has won a subcontract for train ceilings and panels for railcars going to the Metropolitan Transit Authority and the LIRR. The company’s products can already be found in transit systems around the world from the London Underground and Taipei to Vancouver and Mexico Metro. Composite Panel Solutions may add up to 15 employees at its Town of Cattaraugus manufacturing plant to service its new work for the LIRR. Check out the article in Business First here.
