43North Week kicked off on Wednesday, October 21 with the monthly meeting of StartupGrind Buffalo https://www.startupgrind.com/buffalo/ featuring a conversation with Patrick Finan, CEO and co-founder of Block Club and City Dining Cards. The week’s events run through the 43North Finals & Award Ceremony on Thursday, October 29. The slate of events during the week includes:
Buffalo Startup Weekend – October 23-25 http://buffalo.startupweekend.org/ Participants with business and tech interests pitch ideas, form teams and go through a frenzied process of business model creation, coding, designing, market validation and final presentations within 54 hours.
Think Big with 43North – October 26. An interactive event and reception featuring 43North 2014 female competition winners KeepUp and triMirror, and Buffalo business owners Sharon D. Randaccio and Louise Sano.
Ping Pong Diplomacy – October 27. Network, meet the 2014 43North winners and tour the incubator space, all while vying for the coveted title of Ping Pong Diplomacy champion in this single elimination tournament.
Annual Bright Buffalo Niagara Entrepreneur Expo – October 28 http://www.brightbuffaloniagara.com/ Regional entrepreneurs, including many 43North semifinalists, will mingle and pitch with venture capitalists and angel investors and learn more about local resources that promote investment, business partnering and other startup services. This event’s keynote address is from Daymond John, founder and CEO of FUBU clothing line, star of ABC’s “Shark Tank,” and world-renowned marketer.
43North Finals & Awards Ceremony – October 29 www.43north.org Morning & afternoon pitches by the eleven finalists, followed by the evening awards ceremony at which $5 million, including a top prize of $1 million, is awarded to some of the best entrepreneurs from around the world who will be locating in Buffalo.
