NYS Manufacturing activity grew at its fastest rate in two years according to the February Empire State Manufacturing Survey (ESMS). The Business Conditions Index jumped over 12 points to 18.7 as every current indicator, from New Orders and Shipments to Prices Received and Employment, increased. The ESMS mimicked data from the Institute of Supply Management whose ISM indexes were up for both Buffalo Niagara and the nation last week (see our previous blog post for details). These data are consistent with what Insyte is seeing in the WNY region.
