U.S. MANUFACTURING EDGES UP IN MAY

The Institute of Supply Management’s PMI Index was up 0.1 points in May to 54.9 indicating that manufacturing continues to expand modestly nationwide.  It’s the ninth month in a grow with positive growth.  Of the 18 manufacturing sectors tracked in the survey, only two—Apparel, Leather & Allied Products and Textile Mills—reported contraction.
